About

We are a group of physicians and paraprofessionals in the fields of pediatrics, neonatology, pulmonary medicine, neurology, sleep medicine and epidemiology.  We have professional interests in sudden unexpected death in infants and young children, apnea of prematurity and of infancy, and/or in sleep medicine.  AASPP was established in 1991. We hold a national conference annually to meet and share ideas of interest to the group.  As part of this process, we bring in guest speakers who are experts in their fields to introduce us to their most current research.

The board of directors meets several times throughout the year to plan the upcoming year’s conference as well as to design and organize research involving multiple US, Canadian and European centers.  These research projects have resulted in multiple publications and presentations at national and international meetings.

We welcome new members and help them to become comfortably acquainted with the other members of the organization during and outside of the annual conference.
